Bulletin Boards

Table of Contents | Introduction | About the Author

Bulletin boards can be an essential means of conveying the feel of a unit. They should be kept in mind during the process of building the unit. Bulletin boards remind your students daily what the unit is and can be used as a springboard for many of the topics to be covered.

These boards do not have to be complex or elaborate. Words written in chalk on bulletin boards covered with butcher paper can be as effective as laminated prepared cut out letters.

Since, you are building these units for future use, take a "Polaroid" snapshot of the completed board or boards to file in your unit box, or at least make a drawing of it. It's too easy to forget the best ideas from previous years.
